How we built this list
What it is: Every restaurant and food spot we've profiled, grouped by area
What it isn't: A ranking. We only list places we've written about.
Hours: Check each story's Visit box, then the business, before you go
Fort Langley
Start with pastry. Blacksmith Bakery is run by a Covent Garden pastry chef whose croissants take three days. For lunch, Trading Post Eatery found its building on Craigslist, and Tradish's The Ancestor Cafe is where a chef cooks her way back to her culture inside the old trading post.
Beatniks Bistro fills a 1933 house, and Grounds and Greens is the vegan cafe winning over non-vegans.
Langley City
Annora is the one people book weeks ahead. Langley Vietnamese Cuisine on 203 Street has served pho for decades. And at Estrella's Montreal Deli, a man who came to Langley to be a minister now slices smoked meat.
Aldergrove
Aldergrove punches above its size. Try Maple Thai Cuisine, named for the owners' daughter, or Aldergrove Indian Bistro. Pick up dinners for the freezer at Market 49 Fine Foods.
Murrayville, Brookswood and Willowbrook
Two Red Seal chefs run Porter's Bistro in Murrayville's old general store. The Lodge sits upstairs at a Brookswood hockey rink. Near the Willowbrook end of town, Akedo Showten makes its own ramen noodles and Skobi solves the sushi or Korean BBQ argument.
Don't want to cook tonight? Omni Kitchen and Bar serves every dish four ways, which makes picking easier.
