Park around back
Here’s a tip before you go. Don’t circle Fraser Highway hunting for a spot.
McLeary’s tells shoppers to “enter the Save-On-Foods parking lot and take the Mall Road to our store,” where there’s free parking behind the building. The awning out front says the same thing in big letters. The website adds, “And yes, we have lots of free parking.”
Inside, there’s an 11,000-square-foot showroom. The store says it changes the floor every week, so what you saw last month may have moved on.

Forty-plus years at one address
McLeary’s opened in 1979, and it’s never moved. The Langley Advance Times put it simply in 2026: the store “remains at its original Fraser Highway location.”
It’s family-owned and operated. Rick Blake is credited as the owner, and Cam Blake is the general manager. The website doesn’t say who the original McLeary was, or how the Blake family came to run the place. If you know, we’d love to hear it.
What the site does say is personal. “We will always treat you like family, as we love getting to know all our customers on a personal level.” Reviewers seem to agree. They name salespeople by first name, and several mention coming back for a second or third purchase. One wrote, “We bought a beautiful round table and chairs about 10 years ago & it is still my favorite piece of furniture.”

Canadian wood, built before it reaches you
The focus is Canadian-made, solid wood furniture. The store lists “Oak, Pine, Birch, Maple, Alder & more,” and its mattresses are made in Canada too. The Advance Times called that “a bonus in the age of ever-fluctuating tariffs.”
Pieces show up ready to use. “Our local furniture comes built, so there is no need to assemble anything yourself.” A lot of customers go custom. Reviewers describe resizing bed frames, matching a stain to their kitchen cabinets and designing their own dining table and bar stools.

Insider highlight
Whatever style, size or colour you’re looking for, we can make it!

Nobody’s on commission
The sales floor runs without commissions. “Enjoy the freedom of our non-sales-commission environment, which means you get to browse with no pressure,” the store says. One reviewer summed it up as “knowledgeable no pressure staff and very good value for top quality locally made furniture.”
Mattresses get the same patient approach. In a 2023 Advance Times feature on seniors and sleep, Cam said the first thing he asks a shopper is what kind of mattress they’ve been sleeping on. He’d seen adjustable beds take off in recent years. “There’s all different types of models,” he said. He also knows budgets vary. “Not every senior is looking to spend a lot of money.”

Food bank donations and a shelf of awards
McLeary’s gives back in a few steady ways. It makes monthly donations to the Langley Food Bank, runs thrift store furniture donation drives and sponsors minor sports teams.
Langley returns the favour. The store has a long run of Langley Advance Times Readers’ Choice awards, including in 2026, and the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce named it a finalist for Small Business of the Year at the 2026 Langley Business Excellence Awards. “We definitely value the opinion of the readers,” Cam told the paper. Regulars sometimes congratulate the staff when a new award goes up in the store.
It’s open Sundays too, so a weekend browse is easy. Just remember to park around back.
