Candles for the house first

Natasha Mara didn't set out to start a business. Inspired by the Danish idea of hygge, she began making all-natural candles and soaps for her own family to use at home, the company's website says.

She chose 100 per cent soy wax with essential oils. One batch turned into dozens, then hundreds, as friends and then customers asked for more.

A sauna for two busy parents

In 2022 Natasha and Tyrell bought a wood-burning sauna and a cold plunge for themselves. With a family and a farm to run, they needed somewhere to recharge.

The routine made such a difference to their stress levels that they decided to share it. That became The Wellness Den, set on a five-acre corner of the family farm.

What a session looks like

Tyrell hosts. He's spent more than two decades teaching breathwork and emotional resilience, and he works with business leaders and pro athletes, the Den's about page says.

Each visit starts with a short guided introduction. Then you cycle between sauna and cold plunge, with robes and warm relaxation spaces between rounds. Some sessions close with breathwork and a sound bath.

Grown on the farm

The couple's plan is to grow crops on the farm that go into the product line. Kombucha and tea from O'Bella Farms are served at sessions, and Natasha's oils scent the saunas.
