Visit Brae Island Regional Park

Where: Across the Bedford Channel from Fort Langley village

Hours: 7 am to 6 pm from Nov 3 to Dec 31

Campground: Fort Camping, open 6 am to 11 pm year round

Dogs: Leashed at all times

Winter hours

The park's day-use area closes at 6 pm from Nov 3 to Dec 31, Metro Vancouver says, an hour earlier than in October. Fort Camping keeps its 6 am to 11 pm gate hours all year.

Walk the point

Tavistock Point Trail runs 2.1 km on fine gravel with gentle slopes, and it's wide enough for a stroller. Watch for the viewing platforms along the way. Accessible washrooms sit near the parking lot.

No car? The nearest bus stop is at 96 Avenue and Glover Road in Fort Langley, about a 10-minute walk.

Who built the campground

We've told the story of Fort Camping, which a radio man built for Expo 86. Our Brae Island spotlight has more on the park itself.
