'Better little humans'
One parent's thank-you note sits on Fusion Force Studio's About page. The studio didn't just make their kids “stronger dancers,” the parent wrote. It “made them better little humans.”
Kylie Hannan opened Fusion Force in September 2006. The studio sits on Landmark Way in Langley City and is now marking 20 years of classes, recitals and competitions.

Ballet first, then everything else
Kylie started dancing young. Her foundation was ballet at McBride School of Dancing, according to her studio bio. Then she found jazz, lyrical, hip hop and modern.
She kept training at Tammy's School of Dance, Pure Dance and Harbour Dance Centre. She competed in solos and groups and took workshops and master classes all over Canada and the United States.

A Vancouver company, then a studio of her own
Kylie later joined the Source Dance Company, directed by Joanne Pesusich out of Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver. That opened doors to work around the Lower Mainland. She danced for singers and clothing brands, performed at the Dragon Boat Festival, appeared in a music video and choreographed for music artists.
Teaching won out. Her bio calls it her “true passion,” and says her dancers have done well at competitions all over BC and in the northwest states. Her routines have earned plenty of high score and choreography awards.

From Mini Movers to company jackets
Classes start small. Mini Movers is a 45-minute class for toddlers, built around music, movement and basic dance skills. Older kids can try jazz, lyrical, tech or musical theatre, and the studio offers both recreational and performance options.
Company dancers are another story. Every company dancer auditions, new and returning alike. The jacket is serious business too. The studio's FAQ says dancers “will not be allowed to attend their awards session unless wearing the jacket.”

Insider highlight
Kylie believes in the studio growing, improving and supporting each other as a family.
